RSPB Bempton Cliffs Trip

July 2019-

As part of our summer term topic ‘seas the day’ we visited the amazing Bempton Cliffs to explore the wildlife and the scenery. First we visited the wildlife garden to explore the songs and calls of garden birds. After that, we took part in a Zoologist investigation and used our senses on the hunt for life in miniature. We found lots of amazing creatures! The fun didn’t stop there though, as we headed off to explore pond life and discover how a tiny tadpole turns into a bouncy land-loving frog! This was brilliant to see as we had been learning about this in Science. Before we left we took a walk to the secure clifftop to take a peek into the amazing lives of visiting seabirds. We completed the ‘Seabird Scavenger Challenge’ and learnt about lifecycles with Goldie the Gannet! We even got to see the Puffins, who only visit at certain points in the year. What a wonderful trip we had! -

“I love seeing the sea and the birds, it was really nice!”

“I liked going with my friends in school because I never get to do that normally.”

“I loved exploring and looking through the telescope at the Puffins. I felt really lucky to have spotted them because they only come at certain times of the year.”
